over the course of this week, i’ll be posting my annual best of lists. as a complete list nerd, this is my favorite time of the year here on the ol’ blog.

here’s the lists i’ll be posting:

all in all, it’s been a decent year for music. maybe not great, but definitely good. one of the trends over the last handful of years has been a bigger focus on singles, rather than full album experiences. because of that, whittling down a list of songs (my initial brainstorm off the top of my head included nearly 125 songs…) is more and more difficult each year. no doubt, a lot of really great songs didn’t make this list.

so without further ado, here’s my list for 2013:
